A partnership with the farmers

The steady decline in coffee production is linked to the lack of guidance and support that the growers of this commodity face and also due to the diminishing traditional sector which had provided for more than 150 years much of Haiti’s prosperity.

Having noted the difficulty for REBO to get sufficient quantities of quality coffee at REBO’s standard, since 2006, REBO strived to get closer to the producers. The first concrete step was the signature of a formal agreement in 2007 with the Union of Planters of the Borough of Belle-Anse (UPAB), an association of coffee growers. It is a partnership that ensures the quality of coffee beans purchased by REBO and fairness for farmers. The results:
