In 2012, as part of our long-term sustainable strategy, PISA (Produits des Iles SA) was created with the aim to manage our agro-industry segment while bringing in diversity and innovation. Dedicating a company to our local product segment was our way to take part in the agricultural modernization and stand as a pioneer in the agro-industry field with durable partnerships with several groups of agricultural producers to provide affordable and quality fruits, vegetables, coffee, peanut butter, sugar and cacao to the population.

The rapid population growth registered and the international market potential were clear motives to invest in local production and thus support self-sufficiency, food security and exports.

Thanks to its support in the creation of APROCANO – an association of more than 1900 small farmers – PISA exports today certified cacao to the USA, Europe and Asia. As the largest coffee roaster in the country, PISA established a partnership with UPAB, a farmers’ union, which now produces more than 70% of its coffee in Thiotte region.

PISA also launched two different types of retailing concepts REBO EXPRESO and TI PILON as a way to facilitate access to local products and particularly coffee, which is our company’s signature. REBO EXPRESSO are modern coffee shops located in the metropolitan area offering a wide range of coffee drinks as well as different types of healthy snacks. TI PILON is a mobile coffee shop – selling coffee and peanut butter sandwiches – allowing a hundred of underprivileged persons to run a small business and generate income through a TI PILON franchise.

This company is part of a virtuous circle that enables us to support small farmers, strengthen the coffee and peanut value chains, create jobs and increase the consumption of local goods.
